The Auburn University Collegiate Cattlemen and Cattlewomen will be taking orders for their annual holiday sausage box sale through Friday, Nov. 14. Each box contains three 1-pound packages of summer sausage, made by students at the AU Meats Lab, and a 1-pound wedge of medium cheddar cheese. A standard box contains one each of the original summer sausage, garlic pepper summer sausage and jalapeno and cheese summer sausage. A custom box includes any combination of the three flavors of summer sausage. Individual 1-pound sausages and cheese are also available. Boxes will be packaged and available for pick up from the AU Meats Lab the week of Dec. 8. Proceeds from this fundraiser send members of the AU Collegiate Cattlemen and Cattlewomen to national conferences like the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association Cattle Industry Convention and the Reciprocal Meat Conference, where students benefit from educational opportunities and the chance to meet and network with industry professionals.
