Robert Rode

Our lab is used by several researchers working with fish in some capacity. My position is to facilitate the research being accomplished. My workforce is student driven, giving both graduate and under-graduate hands-on experience. I also have an extension appointment helping Hoosiers and others in the Midwest with aquaculture enterprises through trainings, demonstrations or tours.

My favorite Auburn memory was of a fall Tilapia harvest in one of the hillside ponds on the upper station. My major professor, Dr. Lovshin’s MAQ class needed assistance harvesting out the last of the Tilapia. This meant getting down in the mud and up close and personal with the fish. Needless to say, we were all coffee brown when the work was finished and didn’t need a spa treatment . Today it would be a reality television program.
