Poultry science department represented well at poultry forum and conference

Poultry Awards for Auburn College of Agriculture students.

Twenty-one Department of Poultry Science students presented their research findings at the International Poultry Scientific Forum and American Feed Industry Association’s Pet Food Conference earlier this week in Atlanta.

Tanner Wise, Stephanie Philpot, Ruben Kriseldi, Jake Keel and Joshua Flees won graduate student presentation awards at the IPSF, and Sara Cloft won the IPSF student manuscript award.

Brock Herron was recognized as an undergraduate student presenter at IPSF, and Catherine Odom was recognized as an undergraduate student presenter at the AFIA’s Pet Food Conference.

Kriseldi and Croft are advised by poultry science department head Bill Dozier, Flees and Odom are advised by assistant professors of poultry science Charles and Jessica Starkey, and Herron is advised by poultry science assistant professor Amit Morey.

The IPSF presents information on industry topics such as environmental management, nutrition, physiology, pathology, processing and products, and avian diseases. The AFIA’s Pet Food Conference covers a variety of topics from regulatory to technical tactics of production to product claims, marketing and nutrition.
